Balkan Jazz

The music from the Balkans –in its many styles and varieties— forms the basis for the broad musical spectrum of the Ostbeatbend. The repertoire of the Ostbeatbend includes Roma music from Serbia, Romania, and Hungary; traditional songs from Bosnia and the Ukraine; ethnic melodies from Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Serbia; as well as the band’s own original compositions. The music of the Ostbeatbend is a product of the creative collaboration of its musicians. It is independent music in the best of ways: lively and intoxicating.
