Through decades of studying ethnic percussion, Georg brings extensive experience with frame drums, darbuka, tombak and many other percussion instruments to Ostbeatbend’s music.
He has contributed to numerous world-music projects and CD recordings.
Georg has also studied classical Persian music, plays the Persian reed flute ney, and is a member of two Sufi music ensembles as well as the improvisation group Deneb.
Working with musicians from many different countries and fusing African, Oriental and Western musical elements has decisively shaped his development.
The universal and spiritual language of music, expressed through the respectful connection of diverse musical cultures, is especially important to him.
