Michael is self-taught and learns wherever life takes him. He performs in several bands and projects, with a particular love for Gypsy jazz, flamenco and Argentine tango.
Michael is also a co-founder of the successful band Libertango.
Professionally, he works as a stage musician at Schauspielhaus Salzburg, collaborating with actors on readings and concerts.
Since 2000, he has spent extended periods abroad: in Andalusia studying flamenco guitar, in Buenos Aires immersing himself in the world of tango, and in Cuba discovering the island’s songs and rhythms.
He also collaborates regularly with musicians in Andalusia, with performances in Jerez de la Frontera, Marbella and Tarifa, as well as in Marseille, France, and Savannah, USA.
Since mid-2014, he has been exploring the musical landscape of the Balkans with Ostbeatbend.
