Peter Fürhapter is a Salzburg-based bassist and saxophonist. The world of music fascinated him from early childhood, later especially jazz and the rich musical traditions of other cultures and countries.
His extensive musical knowledge comes both from studying double bass at Mozarteum University Salzburg, which opened the world of classical music to him, and from many years as an active musician, particularly in jazz and world music.
His love of Balkan music has continued to grow through musical collaborations with artists from Eastern Europe, especially Bulgaria.
Ostbeatbend quickly responded to Peter’s sensitivity and affinity for complex Balkan rhythms and entrusted him with the deepest tones in the rhythm section.
